Two New Events are Announced
Posted 24th September 2009
Two fantastic, and very different, new events have recently been added to the Reinventing the City programme. Both events take place on Friday 2 October and each has a unique appeal ensuring there is something for everybody.
Great North Museum: Hancock
Join London based artistsD-fuse as they use the Museum space in an unexpected way for a one-off contemporary performance of Particle.
Working with local artists Novak, D-Fuse incorporate the sights and sounds of Tyne & Wear into a live performance to create a spectacular and evocative audio-visual show.
Shipley Art Gallery
If ‘swing’ is more your thing then the Shipley is presenting a vibrant evening of music to celebrate the current Building Bridges exhibition.
On the evening’s line up is the Swing Bridge Singers who have performed alongside famous names such as Aled Jones and Barry Manilow. Joining them is internationally renowned first violinist and leader of the Northern Sinfonia Orchestra, Bradley Creswick.
So whether you prefer to be wowed by a contemporary, abstract live performance in a brand new space or a more traditional concert fizzing with enthusiasm and vigour, Reinventing the City is catering for all tastes.
